Around the turn of the 20th century, the American Working Farmcollie or Shepherd worked on nearly every farm in America. This dog moved the livestock and protected small children. These indispensible, versatile family members were then called "collies." They were different from the AKC collies of today. They were Scotch Collies who also carried the blood of other breeds European farmers brought to this country. As homesteads turned into corporate operations and big agri-business swallowed up small farms this multi-purpose breed was replaced by specialty breeds--hunting dogs, guardian dogs, herding dogs and pets. They became almost extinct. Part of an era of farming fading from american agriculture. Today some americans are going back to the simplicity of the old homestead. Coming out of the urban sprawl and turning back to the lifestyle of previous generations. Once again people are seeking out working dogs that possess the usefulness of their ancestors. They are seeking a dog that is not only intelligent but a devoted companion, helper, and guardian. A dog that thinks on his own and shows a strong desire to help his master in a wide variety of tasks on the homestead. We are one of those families that immediately fell in love with these dogs from the first moment we encountered them. Our farmcollies are not just working animals they are members of our family. The bond we have with each of our collies is a special life long bond. We have found no other dog that delights in pleasing their master as much as these dogs do. We are committed to working to preserve this unique and amazing breed of dog. Please take the time to visit the American Working Farmcollie Association website at www.farmcollie.com. There you will learn all about farmcollies and even where you may find one for your family. Our dogs Ranger and Lassie are registered with AWFA. We have received very positive feedback from families that have chosen a pup from one of our litters.
Black Ranger Shooter PRGN 98
Ranger is our sire. We have received excellent reports on all of his pups. Ranger herds and protects the goats very well and alerts us when there is an escapee. He has bonded nicely with our middle daughter, Christine. He is her constant companion as she goes about the farm completing her chores. We look forward to many years of his presence on our farm.

Lassie of Fair Meadow
Lassie of Fair Meadow PRGN 100
Lassie is our matriarch. She and Ranger have produced pups that have received very good reviews. Lassie is sure to greet everyone that comes to the farm and she is especially gentle with small children. Although she is approaching retirement age she still manages the goats very well.
Jewel of Fair Meadow
Jewel of Fair Meadow
Jewel is a pup out of Lassie and sired by Ranger. She excels at keeping all the livestock where they belong. Each evening she and her father walk the perimeter of our farm to deter predators.
